SiS Student Ambassador of the Year

Miami, July 9, 2020

Alfonso Caldera, a graduate student at the California State University has been selected as winner of the Student Ambassador Study in Spain program 2019-2020.

Alfonso is a Business and Project Management Major and Management Information Systems Minor.

In his own words:

“I studied abroad in Spain Fall 2018 in Bilbao. I quickly adapted to the culture. I traveled around different cities and states of Spain. Besides studying, I interacted with the locals and had an Intercambio in which I learned a lot from. I also had a full on Spanish internship with a startup wine company.”

“I wanted to become a SiS Student Ambassador because I want to show people that culture and what Spain has to offer. I also want to show people what I saw and learned during my time abroad, that way it will motivate people to travel and visit for themselves.”

Alfonso will enjoy a seven-day trip to Spain, sponsored by ICEX Spain Export and Investment.

The Study in Spain initiative, promoted by the Embassy of Spain-Trade Commission and ICEX Spain Exports and Investments, began in 2008 with the aim of promoting Spain as an educational destination for American students,  encouraging relations between educational institutions in Spain and the U.S.
